We know this season is big — beautiful, emotional, and sometimes a little confusing. Weddings aren’t the same as they were when you got married. Traditions shift, trends change, and social media has brides reinventing what a wedding “should” look like. And in the middle of all that, you’re just trying to show up for your child in every way you can.

Here’s the part we love most about how weddings have evolved… they’ve made space for you.

Space for you to enjoy the day, to be present, to laugh, to cry, and to dance. Space for you to be not just physically there, but emotionally there — the way only a mom can.

We also know you have questions. A lot of them.

So we put together a list of the most common questions our Legacy moms ask. Our hope is that these FAQs help you feel more confident, more prepared, and more at ease… so you can enjoy this process too.

You deserve that.
Your child deserves that.

And we’re here to make sure you both get it.

Questions our Legacy moms ask

What do we do about our guests from out of town?

Although we do not offer onsite accommodations, there are many nearby options for your guests and family. These include The Crescent City Marina, an Airbnb on Lake Destin, and several options in Astor — all about 15–20 minutes from the venue. Additional hotels are available in Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, and DeLand, approximately 30 minutes away.

Some families like the idea of renting a charter bus or larger vehicle to transport groups in one trip. This can be a great option, since we don’t offer overnight parking. You’ll find companies listed in our venue rental guide that we give couples upon touring.

We have family who can help set up. Do we still need a wedding coordinator?

Yes. Wedding coordinators do much more than set up. They create the timeline, keep the evening running smoothly, and truly become your best friend throughout the process. We want you to enjoy watching your child get married — let your planner and our staff handle the rest.

We want to see you on the dance floor — not worried about whether things are on track with the timeline or any other details! Your planner knows the venue like the back of her hand, and when she’s allowed to do her job, she’s worth her weight in gold.

Have you seen a wedding guest list of 200 before, and how does the venue handle that?

Absolutely. Whether your guest list is 50 or 200, we have the staff and experience to ensure the day runs smoothly. If needed, we can bring in additional tables and seating to accommodate your guest count. Depending on what’s required, this may come with an additional charge — especially if your guest count ends up over 200.

When can the family arrive at the venue on the wedding day?

This is entirely up to the couple and how they want to spend their morning. Sometimes moms get ready with the bridal party, and dads go skeet shooting or fishing with the groomsmen. If that isn’t the couple’s plan, we recommend parents — and anyone in the ceremony processional — arrive about 45 minutes before the ceremony.

Golf cart transportation begins 30 minutes before the ceremony, so anyone with mobility challenges will be fully supported.

We have a family dish we want to include at the wedding. Is that okay to bring?

Check with your caterer to see if they are willing to serve it. All food must be served by a licensed and insured caterer. Please note that we do not have a way to reheat items onsite.

Rehearsal dinners and bridal showers are great opportunities for families to contribute dishes — so they can relax and enjoy the wedding day itself.

Do I sign the contract if I am paying for the wedding?

We are in contract with the bride and groom. You can access their portal through them in order to make payments.

How can I see the venue before my son/daughter books?

We welcome you to come for a tour! If you cannot attend the complimentary tour with your son or daughter, you may join us for an open house — or schedule an additional tour for a small fee.

What are my responsibilities on the day of the wedding?

Show up and enjoy the day! If the bride and groom ask you to help remove their personal items at the end of the night, that will be your responsibility. Examples include leftover alcohol, leftover food, seating charts, personal décor, gifts, and cards — depending on what the couple brought.

My son/daughter really likes the venue, but we are touring several other places. Can you save the date until we get back to you?

We save dates only when the contract is signed and the down payment is made. We cannot guarantee that your date will still be available after you tour other venues.

I want to see the contract before my child signs. Can you send me a copy?

We encourage you to review the contract together and ask any questions you may have. We send the contract directly to the bride and groom, as they are the parties we are in contract with — but many couples choose to review it with their parents before signing.

With the all-inclusive package, do we get to select our vendors?

Our all-inclusive package includes pre-selected vendors chosen by the venue. If you prefer to hire your own DJ, caterer, photographer, and so on, we recommend the White Barn Package.

Do we need to supply anything for any of our vendors?

You generally will not need to supply anything for vendors on our preferred vendor list, because they already come equipped for a successful event. Caterers bring temperature-controlled food storage, DJs bring their own sound equipment, and the venue provides audio and video connections the DJ may use, along with power access at the ceremony site. But it never hurts to check with a vendor — especially caterers concerning plates, napkins, cutlery, and the like.

What you need to provide depends on the package you book. With the Premier All-Inclusive Package, plates, napkins, silverware, and chargers are included for all guests. With the White Barn Package and Prestige Package, confirm with your caterer what they supply and what you may need to rent or provide — some couples supply their own alcohol for the bartender, sometimes with a “stock the bar” party to help reduce costs.

The venue offers a wide variety of décor you’re welcome to use. You may also bring your own décor, as long as it doesn’t affect the building’s structure — and everything brought in must be removed the same day. Nothing can be left overnight.

The client is required to hire an insured event planner/day of coordinator from our vendor
listing (to begin working with them “at least” one month prior to the wedding)

Do we need a wedding coordinator?

Bride & groom can furnish the alcohol, but ALL alcohol must be served by the hired bartender.

We have a list of the venue’s preferred bartender to serve all alcohol if present.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

No, we are “venue only”. We have a vendor listing we are glad to share with you that can help in securing your wedding vendors. Please see our all-inclusive package to see what’s included.

Are all wedding vendors included in packages?

Yes, the venue furnishes a lot of decor options and props when booking the white barn package, to include white cake buffet, vintage sewing machine table, Lineberry cart, tables/chairs, lanterns, jars, garland, wooden rounds, flameless candles, votives, vases and more! We also offer some rentals, to include vintage doors, extra whiskey barrels and an additional arch to name a few.

Does the venue furnish decor?

Yes, event insurance is required. We make it easy — we provide you with a direct link to secure your event insurance quickly online. The cost is approximately $250.

Do we need insurance?

We offer complimentary golf cart rides. We will also allow drop off at the ceremony site if
necessary. We also have a ramp that adapts to our barns. Just let us know ahead of time.

What if I have guests who can't get around easily, or are in a wheelchair or Scooter?

Yes, but they must have a handler who is not in the bridal party and be leashed at all times. The dog is not allowed in the bridal cottage. The dog can attend the ceremony and photos but must be kenneled for the reception. Additional Insurance may be required.

Can I have my dog as part of my ceremony?

The venue cleans up and hauls off garbage. The client will need to have a team in place to take down and remove all items that do not belong to the venue.

Who cleans up?

We believe in transparency: There will be an additional Volusia County Sales Tax charge of 6.5%. Event Insurance is approximately $250 (you secure, we provide a direct link to make this easy). A $500 security deposit is required two weeks prior to your event and will be returned provided no damages or excessive cleaning is needed. There would be an additional $500 for guest counts over 200. Final guest count is taken 14 days prior to the wedding date.

Do you charge any other fees?
