Barn wedding reception: Settle in a dreamy and romantic sweetheart table

A sweetheart table is a special table in the corner of the barn where you and your significant other can sit and sip on champagne or wine. This table is fully for you.  So it should be an extension of your love as it is the first of many tables you will share time to connect with your spouse.  

Being at a barn venue you don’t have to keep it traditional either.  You can use fun table and chair combinations to create that romantic ambiance. You can easily do this by adding decorations like rose petals, candles and a table runner, or even backdrops. 

Sweetheart tables are perfect for sharing a special moment together from a kiss, to holding each other’s hands or simply enjoying the presence of your spouse.  This is your first dinner after tying the knot with everyone you love around you.

Barn wedding reception: Having a special moment in the loft

Taking advantage of our loft at our barn venue is a must at some point during the reception.

If you can find time to spend a moment in the loft, then this will be a place where you can truly get lost in each other and enjoy the joy of the first moments of your marriage while everyone is celebrating below.

We feel it is important to have these brief intentional moments during your wedding as it can be easy to get swept up in the craziness of it all.  

Even if it is two minutes up in the loft embracing each other watching your friends and family celebrate and feel the joy in the air, it will be the most memorable two minutes of the night that you will talk about for years to come.

Include a schedule for a private last dance

Sometimes it can be overwhelming being the constant center of attention during your wedding. Your mind might be conscious of your every move with all the eyes (and cameras) on you.

Our suggestion is to plan a special (private) last dance for you both.  Whether it be in our barn or under the stars on the back patio.

Just have that moment to really take in everything that happened, slow the pace down and be able to only focus on each other.  After all that is why you are having this celebration to begin with.

A perfect time for it is after everyone leaves the barn. We usually recommend our couples to do a sparkler exit.  So the Dj can announce to your guests to head outside to get ready to participate in the final exit of the night.  While everyone is getting ready this provides the perfect setting for that one last dance where it is just the both of you (and maybe your photographer) fully present in the moment.
